Texas Wake Series - Dallas

Wednesday, July 4th 2012

There was growth this year for sure! The event was viewed by over 2000 spectators who set up on the lake and spent the day watching the Texas Wake Scene. Even with the wind blowing it didn't stop the 25 riders from having some fun.

Nick Storms was the top rider of the day taking first place in open. The advanced division was stacked once again but Anthony Sutton held of Drew Elias and Alex Nicolas who went out to an early injury.

The big news of the day was new comer Piper McCarroll, age 7, riding in the Grom division. It is always amazing to see someone at this age ready to compete and want to push to a new level.

Just as exciting was Chris Brown age 10 who was 2nd place to Piper. Showing some clean riding cutting in and out of the Nautique 210 wake with no problem. The chop got the best of him in the end though. Both these young riders have a great future ahead of them.

The festival ended with a great fireworks show, and the Lipsmack movie viewing on the lake. Thanks to DeepEddy and Monster for ending the festival strong and winding down the day.

The Texas Wake Series is off to a great start for 2012. Look for more events coming this summer!
